ost-high school, I went into the military and they actually figured out I should be an engineer, so when I got out, I went to a state university and got an engineering degree on my dime...f the government and their so called freebies.... I have worked for a varied array of companies most of which anyone would recognize by name, and back in 2007, I was disillusioned and straight up quit my profession as I could no longer tolerate the corporate mindset. I called in some favors from my military days and did something completely different that I won't go into here but ask me about it and I might tell you. Fast forward to now: I have a company that does design work, and I run most of it from my house. I have partners, but the house has now become a server farm. As a result, I am always at work, which means I generally don't get out much except to get groceries or grab a quick bite at a local restaurant. I do end up keeping weird hours quite regularly, as there are specific tasks that can only be completed during non-peak hours where downtime would not cause hiccups. Even though I am a professional, I like to party. I don't do alcohol anymore but everything else is fair game. I have lived in China, Japan, and Mexico for extended periods not related to military deployment, as I really don't count that. At one time I could speak five languages (not fluent, but I could get by). I've been to every continent except antartica and I count Australia since my second wife was from Perth even though I've never stepped foot on Australian soil...kind of count it as "by proxie".
